Work Your Superpower: Working Your Memory…

Dr. Tracy Alloway

Do you or a family member struggle with a learning disability or dyslexia? Maybe, Dr. Tracy’s books 📚 will enlighten you and your loved one with insights concerning dyslexia.

With that said, two of her books that caught my interest are:  'How Can I Remember All That,' which focuses on teaching students with learning disabilities, and 'The Map Challenge,’ a book about Dyslexia.

Over the past two years, I’ve become familiar with how to interact with individuals with dyslexia. My producer of the Lilac Podcast, Joe, has dyslexia as well as Sam, my co-host/technician.

Some of the strategies I implement when communicating with individuals with dyslexia are: slowing down how fast I speak, patiently wait for them to finish their sentences & make sure I send step by step emails to them to ensure all information is clarified to minimize miscommunication!

With that said, please listen 🎧 to our LIAC episode with Dr. Tracy Alloway. Dr. Tracy Alloway is an award-winning psychologist who researches the brain and memory. She is the author of fifteen books, including six children's books, to help students, teachers, and even parents better understand their children's learning needs. She has been featured on The Doctors TV, Good Morning America, The Today Show, Forbes & Bloomberg.
