On Sunday, we had a wonderful family dinner at my brother Matt and sister-in-law Kristen’s home in Bradenton, Florida (back left).
In the center of the picture is my cousin Neil, who has recently undergone a quadruple bypass. He came through the surgery like a champion, thanks to the unwavering support of his wife, Beth, who is to his left. They’re visiting Florida from Philadelphia.
Next to me on the right is my nephew Lucas, a remarkable 17-year-old who has triumphed over FEVR, or Familial Exudative Vitreoretinopathy, a rare retinal disease. He is on the weightlifting team at Braden River high school and an Honor Role student.
Both Neil and Lucas are living miracles that truly reflect the mercy and grace of the Lord! Psalm 104. There’s so much to be thankful for in life.
