The Rays vs The Pirates spring training, Bradenton, Florida…LECom stadium.
Spending time with my brothers, Matt and Paul, watching a spring training game was incredibly therapeutic. It took me back to our childhood in Pittsford, N.Y., where we had a spacious basement that became our personal sports arena, especially for baseball.
We improvised with a short, thin broom handle as our bat and a tennis ball as our baseball. Different corners of our basement marked first, second, and third base, while the chimney wall stood as our very own "Green Monster," a nod to Fenway Park in Boston—what a laugh that was!
Playing against my brothers was intense; we took each game seriously but relished every moment of fun and competition.
What about you? I'd love to hear some of your childhood memories from baseball or any other sport. Those moments are priceless, aren't they?
