REMEMBERING 9/11

I vividly recall watching a square television—not a flatscreen, mind you!—when the first World Trade Center was struck by the pilot driven by evil intentions. At that time, my father, Joseph, was receiving chemotherapy for his cancer. The only moment I ever witnessed him cry was when his youngest sister, Barbara, passed away from cancer. As we watched the smoke billowing from the tower, a single tear rolled down his cheek.

This past weekend, I tuned into various remembrance shows reflecting on the tragic events of 9/11. Seeing the families, friends, newscasters, and the millions who witnessed the towers collapse like Lego blocks brought tears to my eyes.

Total Deaths: Approximately 2,977 victims.

Injuries: Over 6,000 people were injured.

First Responders: Many firefighters, police, and emergency workers lost their lives or suffered long-term health issues due to exposure to debris and toxins.

God bless America 🇺🇸!
