Last week, I moved into my new condo in Sarasota, Florida, and it has certainly been an adventure. Earlier in the week, the elevator was out of service, so I had to carry my 15-year-old dog, Bruno, down two flights of stairs. After he took care of business, I had to haul him back up—80 pounds of pup! 😂 He looked at me like I had lost my mind.
On a brighter note, I had a serendipitous encounter on Saturday with Gary, a former student from Southeast High School in Bradenton. Eight years ago, when I was his counselor, I constantly encouraged him to stay on top of his homework and think about his future career path. Now, he’s a sales representative at Xfinity and is pursuing a degree in cybersecurity through an online university. It’s rewarding to see how all those mentoring sessions paid off! How about you? Are you currently mentoring anyone? Feel free to share your experiences!
Great article! Reading about Bruno reminded me of Raja carrying our first rescue, our GSD Tessa, up and down the stairs when she suffered with arthritis.
