As mentioned earlier, I helped some friends whose homes were affected by Hurricane Helene, but then we were hit by the chaos of Hurricane Milton! For those unfamiliar with Florida, this storm was truly a beast, nearly becoming a perfect storm.
As it approached, I held onto my Bible and prayed for the safety of my family, friends, and fellow Floridians, especially those who needed to evacuate. The howling winds and the flickering lights, which lasted for about four hours, really made me reflect on the fragility of life. At any moment, my sliding glass doors could have shattered, forcing me to seek refuge in one of my bathrooms. If you've never been in a hurricane or tornado, the bathroom is one of the safest
places to take cover.
Speaking of safety, I often think of my father, Joseph, who passed away about 22 years ago. He used to say, “Whatever doesn’t kill you makes you stronger!”
For those of you who pray, please keep Floridians in your thoughts. Many residents face a long road ahead in restoring their homes and businesses. Let’s make each day meaningful and continue to make a positive impact in our lives. Coach N.
