I find myself deeply reflecting on the courage, commitment, brotherhood, community, sacrifice, and love I have witnessed from coworkers, friends, and family who have experienced loss, whether in small or overwhelming ways, due to Hurricane Milton. My heart aches for those who have lost 60 to 80% of their belongings or homes because of storm surges, tornado winds, and flooding. This has prompted me to appreciate the everyday aspects of life: the safe journeys to and from work, the ability to grocery shop, the conversations without interruptions, helping students, encouraging coworkers, and supporting others as they rebuild their lives through coaching.
Even enjoying a simple NFL football game while spending time with family brings me joy. I am truly grateful to the Lord for these simple blessings. Attending church on Sundays allows me to give back to those who need it, enriches my life and assists others in their classrooms of life.
